In the 1960s, the suave, charismatic, and unpredictable Reggie Kray and his troubled twin brother Ronnie begin to make their mark on the criminal underground in London. The siblings are responsible for a number of violent crimes, including armed robberies, murders, and the operation of nightclubs and protection rackets. They resort to violence in order to acquire what they want. In spite of the fact that police Detective Leonard "Nipper" Read is hot on their trail, the brothers continue their meteoric ascent to power and acquire recognition in the tabloids.
