Le Corbeau
Germain is a doctor in a small French town who becomes the target of a violent smear campaign after letters accusing him of having an affair and performing illegal abortions are sent to the village's mayor and other elected officials. It doesn't take long for the unknown writer, who signs each letter with the name "Le Corbeau" (The Raven), to attack the entire village, revealing everyone's dark secrets. When it was released, this allegorical film sparked widespread controversy, and it was eventually prohibited in France following the Liberation.
