La Vie en Rose
From the rough streets of Paris's Belleville neighborhood to the bright lights of New York's most famous concert halls, Edith Piaf's life was a constant battle to sing and survive, to live and love. Piaf grew up in her grandmother's brothel. In 1935, she was found by nightclub owner Louis Leplee, who persuaded her to sing even though she was very nervous. Piaf became one of France's most iconic figures, and her voice is one of the most recognizable sounds of the 20th century.
