When his brother vanishes, mentally challenged Langston Bellows (Gbenga Akinnagbe) is alone in Brooklyn's slums. Langston, now in the grip of his cruel mother (Alfre Woodard), must decide his own fate. A celebrity magazine columnist who promotes dangerous prescription medicine concoctions, he sets out to find the doctor who can cure him. That would entail moving into his own apartment with his lover, who may or may not be a product of Langston's imagination. As he searches for his mysterious doctor and hero, he makes some unwelcome discoveries in the pharmaceutical marketing industry. And yet, everyone around Langston isn't who they seem to be.
