Jack and the Cuckoo-Clock Heart

Jack is born on the coldest day in Scotland in 1874. His heart quits beating due to the intense cold. Edinburgh's responsible midwife saves him by replacing his heart with a clock. So he lives, protected by the midwife. But he must not become enraged or aroused lest his clock fail. Worse, he will have to face the fact that he cannot fall in love since it will break his fragile heart.
