Muppet Theater is owned by a bank owner (Miss Bitterman) who intends to turn it into an underground nightclub. It is only after she has hoodwinked Pepe into handing over the contract that she is able to make the Muppets pay back a debt that they are given a short window of time in which to make good on their obligations. Meanwhile, the Muppets are attempting to stage a holiday show with their characters. In response to Bitterman's confrontation with the Muppets, the latter make numerous sacrifices in order to rescue the Theatre from being lost forever.
