The aging gene has been turned off in the not-too-distant future. In order to prevent overpopulation, time has replaced money as the means by which individuals purchase pleasures and necessities. The wealthy are able to live forever, whereas the rest of society attempts to negotiate for immortality. A impoverished young man who acquires an abundance of time, but not in time to save his dying mother. He is forced to flee a corrupt police unit known as "time keepers."
