I'll Be Home for Christmas

Jake, a college student who is estranged from his father, is persuaded to come home to New York for Christmas by the promise of getting a classic Porsche as a gift. Jake is left in the desert in a Santa suit by a mean football team. He has no ID and no money to help him get to his next destination. His girlfriend, Allie, doesn't know where he is and accepts a ride across the country from Eddie, who is also dating Jake.
