April is the beginning of spring, and the last of the cherry blossoms are still blooming. A book is discovered in a hospital waiting room by the normally aloof bookworm who has no interest in others. "Living with Dying" is handwritten on the front cover. He quickly discovers that it is a diary kept by his extremely popular and genuinely joyful classmate Sakura Yamauchi, who informs him that she is secretly suffering from pancreatic cancer and only has a limited amount of time left. This is the point at which she acquires yet another individual willing to disclose her secret. Sakura is determined to live her life to the fullest until the very end, attempting to maintain a normal life as much as possible. His heart begins to gradually change as her free personality and unpredictable behaviors throw him for a loop.
