Five young men in a small Italian village drift through life while dreaming of being successful. Fausto, the leader of the group, is a womanizer. Riccardo wants to be famous. Alberto is a hopeless dreamer. Moraldo dreams of living in the city. And Leopoldo wants to write plays. While Fausto chases after a number of women, much to the horror of his pregnant wife, the other four stumble from one boring event to the next.
