Hurry Sundown
After WWII, a northern cannery combine buys a huge tract of uncultivated Georgia countryside. Julie Ann Warren owns the majority of the land, which her dishonest, draft evading husband Henry has already optioned. One owned by Henry's cousin Rad McDowell, a battle veteran with wife and family, and the other by Reeve Scott, a young black guy whose mother used to be Julie's childhood Mammy. But Rad and Reeve don't want to sell, so they establish an unlikely black-white partnership to enhance their land. Henry is enraged yet determined to complete the major estate purchase. Desperate to get a Negro thrown in jail after the death of Reeve's mother Rose, Henry tries to persuade his wife to accuse Reeve with illegal land ownership.
