Odin has defended his homeland of Asgard for eons. One week each winter, however, the All-Father must rest and restore his vigor. During this time, all of Asgard's enemies (including trolls, giants, dark elves, and demons) attempt to conquer the kingdom for themselves, but they are always thwarted by Odin's son, the powerful Thor, albeit at the expense of a great number of valiant Asgardian warriors. Loki, the god of mischief, has kidnapped Dr. Bruce Banner and transported him to Asgard with the assistance of Amora, formerly Thor's sweetheart and now the supervillain Enchantress. Banner becomes the Hulk after Loki provokes his anger. The Enchantress then casts a spell over the Hulk, separating Banner from his monstrous alter ego and giving Loki control of the Hulk's body.
