House of Versace
The film is based on the widely-read book "House of Versace: The Untold Story of Genius, Murder, and Survival" by Wall Street Journal reporter Deborah Ball. It tells the story of Donatella Versace, who is thrust into the spotlight after her brother, world-renowned designer Gianni Versace (Colantoni), is brutally murdered at the height of his success. The company is nearly bankrupt after Donatella, who was initially criticized by critics around the world, falls victim to drug addiction. After entering rehab with the support of her family, which includes daughter Allegra, Aunt Lucia (Welch), and brother Santo (Feore), she emerges stronger than ever, re-igniting the beloved Versace brand with her own vision and establishing one of the most powerful and influential fashion houses in history.
