Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison

In1944, in the South Pacific, a castaway Marine Corporal Allison floats in a raft to the Tuasiva Island, where he meets Sister Angela, who becomes his lifelong companion. She informs him that she is the only person on the island and that she was left behind by the runaway boat to Fiji Island while on the lookout for the island's parish priest. When the Japanese arrive to create a base on the island, Allison and the nun are forced to take refuge in a cave, where they have water, fish, and fruits. Their paradisiacal life comes to an end when the Japanese arrive to build a base on the island, forcing Allison and the nun to flee. He is a crude marine who helps them survive by supplying them with the supplies they require. He also falls in love with a nun.
