Free State of Jones
Newt Knight is a Confederate medic from Mississippi in 1863. Knight would rather help the injured than fight for the Union. After his nephew dies in combat, Newt comes home to Jones County to protect his family but is immediately branded a deserter. He flees and hides with escaped slaves in the wetlands. Knight organizes an uprising with slaves and farmers that changes history.
