For the Love of a Child

With help from American military personnel stationed in Asia, and later from the United States, a foundation for mixed-race "orphans" is established in 1959. A multi-disciplinary center for children who have been mistreated or neglected is born out of this. At least one of them—the brilliant Jacob Fletcher—is returning home after serving 10 months in prison for terrorizing his stepfather, an attorney. Many of Jacob's friends have harrowing stories to tell, but the farm's professional and devoted staff are able to heal most of them with animal therapy.
