Fatima
In 1917, a young girl of 10 years old, together with her two younger cousins, see repeated apparitions of the Virgin Mary outside of the parish of Fátima, Portugal. During these visits, the Virgin Mary reveals to the children that the only way World War I will be ended is through prayer and suffering. Word of the sighting travels throughout the nation, driving religious pilgrims to flock to the place in the hopes of experiencing a miracle. This occurs at the same time that secularist government officials and leaders of the Church attempt to force the children to recant their narrative.
