Farewell My Concubine

Douzi was raised by a theater company when his prostitute mother left him in 1920. There, he meets Shitou, and in the years that follow, the two create the play "Farewell, My Concubine," which gives them fame and money. When Shitou marries Juxian, Doutzi becomes envious, ushering in the beginnings of the acting duo's dramatic split and tragic decline.
