The people of the world are facing a crisis. They are at war with an alien race known as the Cnidarians, who are considerably superior to them. Following a violent attack on a military ship, the Vendetta, USSM special forces were able to capture their first Cnidarian prisoner, codenamed 71099. However, Ediolon, the ghost, is well-known throughout the fleet. Recognizing that a military transport would be too obvious a target for their adversary, the USSM enlisted the freelance spacecraft Genesis, piloted by Nathaniel J Rhys, to surreptitiously take the prisoner to the maximum security jail located on Mars' moon Demos.
