Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods
The events of Battle of Gods occur some years after the decisive conflict with Majin Buu, which established the fate of the cosmos. Beerus, the God of Destruction, is awoken after a long hibernation by Whis, his attendant, who informs him that the galactic tyrant Frieza has been vanquished by Goku, a Super Saiyan from the North Quadrant of the cosmos and a former student of the North Kai. Goku, ecstatic at the new challenge, disregards King Kai's counsel and engages in fight with Beerus, but he is easily vanquished. Beerus departs, but his ominous question, "Is there anyone on Earth more deserving of destruction?" lingers. The heroes must now halt the God of Destruction before all is lost.
