Detour
Al Roberts, a nightclub pianist from New York, hitchhikes to Hollywood to meet his girlfriend Sue. Charles, the gambler he is riding with, dies unexpectedly. Fearful that the authorities will not believe him, Al assumes the man's identity. He offers a lift to Vera, a woman who knew Charles, and then blackmails Al with tragic results.
