Frank Connor, a San Francisco police officer, is on a desperate search for a matching bone marrow donor for his terminally ill son. There's only one catch: the potential donor is convicted multiple killer Peter McCabe, who sees a trip to the hospital as the ideal opportunity to obtain what he desires most: liberation from his prison sentence.
