Colewell
Residents of Colewell, Pennsylvania, gather at the post office for mail and talk, as the days pass quietly and serenely. That is, until the office is forced to close, leaving loving clerk Nora (a superb Karen Allen) to battle for her job and reflect on the decisions she has made that have kept her in Colewell for so long. Tom Quinn's beautiful video is an ode to small-town life and the calm feelings that come with nostalgia and recollections of the past. It is touching, with a hint of melancholy. Nora says, "I don't want to be lonely," but what that implies is ambiguous. Colewell beautifully portrays rural America while contemplating on what defines a life well spent and providing space to the beauty of time passing.
