Christmas Story

An accident kills Nikolas' family hundreds of years ago in Lapland. The townspeople resolve to help the orphaned youngster. Nikolas relocates every Christmas. He makes toys for the children of the families as a thank you gift. Nikolas' former adoptive families multiply over time, and soon practically every house has gifts on Christmas morning. A grouchy old carpenter, Iisakki, sends Nikolas to live and work at the age of thirteen. But Nikolas gradually wins Iisakki's trust. Together they begin to look after Nikolas' Christmas custom. The Christmas gift tradition is once again threatened when Iisakki must leave Nikolas. Thankfully, Nikolas comes up with a solution that continues to offer joy to youngsters today.
