One of the city's oldest family-owned banks is up for sale. Laurel, a businesswoman from Chicago, goes to Memphis to buy it. Laurel meets up with old flame Clay, a local music promoter who has bigger dreams. It's hard to keep your eyes on the prize, but Clay is very persuasive. He reminds her of when they were a performing duo and on the brink of stardom. Laurel now wants to go to the home of the blues and play music again.
