This film depicts the Berlin drug scene of the 1970s, based on Christiane F.'s tape recordings. Christiane,14, lives in a typical Berlin multi-story apartment complex with her mother and younger sister. The 'Sound,' a new disco with cutting-edge technology, fascinates her. She begs a buddy to drive her despite the fact that she is legally too young. Detlef, who is part of a drug-addled clique, is there when she meets him. She gradually becomes engrossed in the situation.
