Brown Paper Bag
Archie Glass is attempting to enter Hollywood in 1942. His opportunity presents itself when he is offered a job: locate a young white movie star before the press reports her missing, and he will have a crack at his Hollywood dream. Thus begins a voyage into a Los Angeles you've never seen before; the actors who play maids, busboys, and background characters in jungle films all come to the fore in this dramatic noir about a guy prepared to do anything to make his dream a reality. Archie snoops through Hollywood's back alleys and unearths more lies than truth. He eventually discovers both the woman he seeks and the grim truth of being a black guy in Hollywood.
