Break Up
Jimmy is married to the abusive Frank, but she is saving money to leave. She has been deaf for a year as a result of one of his beatings. He pushes her over the stairwell one night, and she ends up in the hospital. When a charred body in her husband's car is pulled from a pond, the cops want to question her, but she flees for her sister's, loses her savings pass-book, and then discovers her bank account has been emptied. She flees, with the same cops hot on her tail, and eventually realizes Frank isn't dead. Getting her money back, confronting Frank, appeasing the cops, and regaining her freedom may be too much for her. Submitted by
