The young adults Dean, Duncan, and DJ Beatroot are all from Glasgow, and they are good friends. They decide to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh Award, which is modeled after a program that actually exists in the real world. While on the trip, they will engage in activities such as orienteering, foraging, and working together as a team. In spite of the fact that they were looking forward to letting loose and smoking pot in the Scottish Highlands, the group found themselves matched with Ian, a fellow camper who was keen to play by the rules. The boys find themselves being pursued by an unseen power that is intent on eradicating their futures when they take a detour into some desolate farmland that is light-years off from the metropolitan environment in which they are most at ease.
