Blood Paradise
Best-selling crime writer Robin Richards (Andréa Winter) is sent to the Swedish countryside by her publisher to regain inspiration after her latest novel fails to sell. She encounters a strange cast of characters while alone, including her driver and most ardent fan, his explosively jealous wife, and the increasingly insane man who owns the farm where she is staying. Robin, who is completely out of place in her new surroundings—for one thing, she is always dressed for glamorous, big-city life—discovers how dangerous these outcasts can be. The surprising debut feature from Patrick von Barkenberg (who also stars as Robin's boyfriend) is steeped in dreamy atmospherics and laced with strange humor, but is grounded throughout by Winter, who has your attention in rapt attention.
