Baby Doll
The story of "Baby Doll," which is based on a Tennessee Williams play, revolves around Archie Lee Meighan (Karl Malden), a struggling cotton gin owner who marries Baby Doll (Carroll Baker), a 19-year-old childish beauty whose father arranged the marriage for financial reasons. While Archie and Baby Doll await the coming of Baby Doll's 20th birthday, the day on which they are meant to consummate their marriage, he is beset by interference from business competitor Silva Vacarro (Eli Wallach), who is attempting to seduce Baby Doll away from his wife Meighan.
