11-year-old Lisa doesn't have time for toys because she is too preoccupied with caring for her siblings and cooking for her mother. Lisa travels to Toyland in the style of the Wizard of Oz during the Christmas Eve blizzard and arrives just in time for a wedding. Despite her feelings for Jack Be Nimble, young Mary Contrary is about to marry cruel, old Barnaby Barnacle. Lisa tries to prevent this terrible wedding and discovers, with the help of her new friends, that Barnaby wishes to take over Toyland. Lisa, Mary, Jack, and Georgie Porgie seek assistance from the Toymaster, who refuses to assist them as long as Lisa does not believe in toys.
