Apartment 1303
During a party with her friends on the thirteenth level of a building in her new low-cost leased apartment (with balcony and a view of the sea), the young Sayaka impulsively jumps off the balcony, committing suicide. She is only twenty-one years old. Mariko, her older sister, decides to look into her sibling's strange death after her mother suffers a psychotic breakdown. She discovers that there have been a large number of suicides among young women who have lived in apartment 1303. She discovers a book that tells the tragic story of Yukiyo and her mother, who were the original inhabitants of the flat, and she uncovers the truth about the suicides that occurred there.
