Jo Hauser, a doctor who enjoys playing soccer, moves to Berlin to intern at a renowned clinic, hoping to learn more and aid his disabled brother Willi Hauser. He joins a secret group of scientists led by Prof. Muller-LaRousse who are studying the use of bionic muscles in humans without regard for ethics or legislation. Paula Henning is investigating the team, which is also a volunteer.
