An Angel at My Table

This performance, which is based on the autobiographical work of New Zealand writer Janet Frame, portrays the author at various stages in her life. Frame, who suffers from mental and emotional problems, grows up in a poor household and through a series of disasters while still in her adolescence, including the loss of two of her brothers. Frame, played by Kerry Fox, achieves success as a writer while still incarcerated in a mental facility, and her accomplishments enable her to move on with her life after being released.
