A sequence of gruesome murders, with the victims always being couples, displayed in weird collage dioramas with cardboard cutouts and handwritten, childlike inscriptions about love's corrupting power. The assailant is still on the loose, and the FBI is on the hunt for a truck driver. Emery Reed is a long-haul trucker who has lost faith in the American Dream after his wife was disabled in an accident and their son was killed. Jeff and Krissy, newlyweds, are enjoying the time of their lives until their car breaks down on a lonely country road. When the lovers collide with the despondent truck driver, the result is a tumultuous trip that makes everyone question the true value of love and American romance.
