Aces High
Three years into the First World War, the favored children of the nation are being slaughtered at an alarming pace in aerial combat over the Western Front. An average British pilot's life expectancy had dropped to just a week by early 1917. Gresham, the squadron's commander, is under enormous stress as a result of these setbacks. Aces High depicts the futility of war in the early days of the Royal Flying Corps through careful direction and beautifully choreographed aerial fights.
