Adelaide Kay, a pop sensation, is so fed up with her domineering manager that she sneaks off the tour bus following their latest altercation. Though she is ecstatic to be free, she soon finds herself stuck in the bitter cold of a Pennsylvania winter, without money or a plan. She is taken in by a local family, the Lapps.
