A Soldier's Story

A black Master Sergeant is discovered shot to death near the local Army Base in a remote community in Louisiana. From Washington, a military lawyer who is also a black guy is assigned to undertake an investigation. Captain Davenport must contend with an inefficient chain of command and terrified black troops in order to ascertain who murdered Sergeant Waters.
