A historical drama about the relationship between a king and his bodyguard set during the Koryo dynasty. The king of Goryeo Dynasty Korea is under pressure to produce an heir to the throne under the dominance of Yuan Dynasty China. Because he is too in love with his bodyguard, Hong Lim, to make love to his queen, the king asks the two of them to sleep together instead. Hong Lim and the Queen develop a forbidden love as a result of their sexual contact.
