A Day Without a Mexican

On one particular morning, the state of California awakens to discover that one-third of its people, specifically the Hispanic third, has vanished. It appears that the state is enveloped in a peculiar pink fog, and all communication with the outside world is shut off. In the aftermath of this calamity, the economic, political, and social ramifications threaten California's way of life, and for a divergent group of people (all white, with the exception of one Latina), the fissures in their private lives are forced to come to light.
