During the initial Russian airstrikes against Georgia, an American journalist and his cameraman are caught in the middle of the fighting. Recovering from the attack and saving Tatia, a young Georgian schoolteacher who had been separated from her family, the two reporters offer to assist her in reuniting with her family in exchange for Tatia serving as their interpreter. In their attempts to get away, the three witnesses and documents the devastation caused by full-scale crossfire and the cold-blooded murder of innocent civilians as they flee for their lives.
