49th Parallel
Germany sinks a U-boat in Canada's Hudson Bay in the early days of World War II. A small group of German soldiers, led by Lieutenant Hirth, tries to cross the border into the United States, which hasn't joined the war and is officially neutral. They hope to avoid being caught. With each step they take, the German soldiers meet men who are brave. They meet a fur trapper from Quebec, Peter of a Hutterite farming community and Philip of an author. They also meet a soldier named Andrew Brock.
