Young Dracula is a British horror drama for teens that airs on CBBC. It is loosely based on Michael Lawrence's children's book Young Dracula AND Young Monsters. The first season aired in 2006 and was directed by Joss Agnew. The second season, which began in late 2007 and ended in early 2008, was also directed by Agnew. After three years, a third series was ordered and began airing on October 31, 2011, and a fourth series began airing on October 29, 2012. In the first two series, Vladimir, his father Count Dracula, and his older sister Ingrid, all vampires, are the main characters. After multiple events involving violent peasant crowds in Transylvania, they relocate to the Welsh village of Stokely. It was filmed in different places in Wales, like Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Glantaf, Caerphilly Castle, Tretower Court, and parts of Llantrisant. The third series was ordered three years after the second. In it, Vlad and the Count run away from both vampires and slayers, while the Count is determined that Vlad should become "the Chosen One" to fulfill his destiny. In 2011, this series was shot in different places in Liverpool, such as the old Margaret Bevan School, Croxteth Hall, and Stanley Docks. The fourth season picks up where the third one left off, and it was directed by a new person.
