Xavier: Renegade American television producers John Lee, Vernon Chatman, Jim Tozzi, and Alyson Levy are responsible for the creation of the CGI fantasy comedy series Angel. Wonder Showzen was also created by Lee and Chatman, who are credited for their work. The show was created by PFFR, while Cinematico was responsible for the animation. It made its debut on Adult Swim at midnight on November 4th,2007, and on the Adult Swim website the day before, on November 1st. The style of Xavier is characterized by a plot that is nonlinear and confusing, and it follows the funny musings of a humanoid pseudo-shaman and spiritual seeker named Xavier. The show is well-known for its pervasive use of ideologically critical dark comedy, surrealist, and absurdist humor, all of which are presented via a psychedelic and New Age lens. Additionally, the program is typically given the TV-MA rating because it contains intense, graphic, and frequently bloody acts of violence, as well as strong sexual content, the use of racially or ethnically offensive language, grotesque depictions, and content that is considered "too morbid and too incomprehensible for young viewers." As a result of the show's poor ratings, Xavier: Renegade Angel was canceled on April16,2009, after airing for a total of 20 episodes between its launch on November4,2007, and its conclusion on April16, 2009.
