A Cincinnati radio station's quirky staff must switch gears quickly when it plays top-40 rock 'n' roll. Andy Travis, the station's new programming director, brings in a new DJ named Venus Flytrap to work with Dr. Johnny Fever, the station's burned-out veteran. Neurotic newsman Les Nessman, eager beaver Bailey Quarters, unscrupulous salesman Herb Tarlek, blonde bombshell Jennifer Marlowe, and station manager Arthur Carlson, whose mother owns WKRP, round out the wacky lot.
