Vanished is a 20th Century Fox serial drama television series. The show debuted on Fox on August21,2006, and ended on November10, 2006. The series, which is set in Atlanta, Georgia, opens with the mysterious abduction of a Georgia senator's wife, which is soon found to be part of a larger plot. A journalist and her lover/cameraman, as well as the missing woman's family, are all lured into an unfolding mystery with political and religious overtones. Mimi Leder, who also directed the episode, and Paul Redford executive produced the show. The intended 22-episode series had been ordered to be canceled after the 13th episode, according to USA Today on October26, 2006. In the event that the series was prolonged, the story arc of finding Sara Collins was to be completed, leaving the question of a wider conspiracy hanging. Fox announced on November16, 2006 that the show would be cancelled after the December finale. Vanished's final episode was released online on December8, 2006.
