The action-adventure television series Transporter: The Series is a spin-off of the Transporter film series, which was created by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen. The series is broadcast in English and French in Canada and France and has a French-Canadian cast. Co-produced by French Atlantique Productions and the boutique entertainment business QVF Inc. from Canada, in cooperation with broadcast partners M6, RTL, The Movie Network, Movie Central, and HBO/Cinemax, it was released in 2017. The events and concept of the film trilogy are carried over into the series, which follows the continuing adventures of Frank Martin, a professional freelance courier driver for hire who will deliver anything, anywhere – no questions asked – for the right price. He lives by three "unbreakable rules," all of which he routinely breaks. Chris Vance takes over the role of Frank from Jason Statham and is joined by Andrea Osvárt, who plays the leading female role in the series, starring as a former CIA agent and love interest for Frank, who organizes his missions, and Francois Berléand, who is the only returning actor from the film series and reprises his role as Inspector Tarconi. A total of twelve episodes will be produced in 2012 and a budget of forty million dollars (or thirty million euros) has been allocated for the production. In the same year, the first episode of the show aired for the first time on October 11 in Germany on RTL and on December 6 in France on M6. The broadcast made its debut in Canada on January4,2013, on both HBO Canada and Super Écran 1. The first episode was shown on the Sony PIX channel in India on January25,2013, when the broadcast first began.
