David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith created the MTV comedy series The Hard Times of RJ Berger. The main character of the show is RJ Berger, a sophomore at the made-up Pinkerton High School in Ohio who isn't very popular and has a very large penis. Berger's two best friends are Miles Jenner, who wants to be popular and often fights with Berger, and goth girl Lily Miran, who has been in love with Berger for several years. Jenny Swanson, a cheerleader in love with popular athlete and bully Max Owens, is Berger's potential love interest. The show is defined by Katzenberg and Grahame-Smith as a mash-up of The Wonder Years and Superbad, a television series and a film. June 6, 2010 was when the first season debuted, and August 23, 2010 marked the end of the first 12 episodes. First, MTV aired the show for a second season, from March 24, 2011, until May 30, 2011. Then, the show was terminated in August of that year.
