Louise, a budding magician, is here to introduce herself. Students at the Tristein Academy refer to her as "Zero Louise" because of her 0 triumphs in the magic world thus far in her magical career. In reality, her spells often go horribly wrong. In order to see how good she is at magic, she must now call upon the assistance of one of her familiars. Her magic is summoned at this important juncture and she asks for a "devoted, attractive and powerful" familiar, but instead she gets a "ordinary" Japanese guy named Hiraga Saito. Even though it is impossible to tell who is more shocked and upset, the rules forbid second chances. In the end, Louise and her weird familiar are the only ones left.
